RVM Attends ‘ Fleet Safety Forum Conference – Best of the Best’
RVM continued its support of Brake, the road safety charity, by attending the recent Fleet Safety Forum Conference – Best of the Best. This offered fleet managers a chance to see practical risk management applications as well as to share ideas and discuss future developments in work-related road safety.
The day brought together around 150 delegates and an array of speakers and topics. The recurrent theme was the importance of top down commitment in order to ensure any risk management initiative would work.
Case studies presented on the day showed that engaging directors, managers, workers and contractors in the program can have significant benefits in lowering the frequency and cost of accidents.
They went on to confirm that once you have engaged and committed the parties involved, the next hurdles are in collecting and analysing the data and then putting effective management controls in place to avoid the high risks.
By implementing robust risk management controls, the studies demonstrated some great results over the 3 year period of analysis:
- 65% reduction in incident rates
- 14% insurance rate reduction
- 60% claims cost savings
The case studies used accident management statistics, the results of driver licence checks and on-line assessments to assess the risks and then used bespoke driver training solutions to tackle the high risk areas.
RVM Sales Director commented “It was great to hear these risk management success stories and in particular how all of the tools that were used in the case studies also form the key elements of the RVM “Full Circle” program. We see these fantastic results as validation of our decision to bring these particular five services together in one package for our fleet customers”
